The author, a travel enthusiast who loves wide open spaces, reproduces the atmosphere of each of these magical places and tells their story.  She brings to life the beliefs and ancestral legends they house and describes the rituals carried out there, showing people’s desire to reach the divine.  Each site is illustrated by drawings by Cornwall-based artists Zanna and Harry Goldhawk.
