Traité de l’amour

Considered to be the master of Sufism, Ibn Arabi (1165-1240) wrote the Meccah Revelations, the immense corpus which includes the Treatise on love, between 1203 and 1240. In this monumental work, love is considered in all its forms, natural or physical, spiritual and divine. Ibn Arabi presents them in particularly engaging fashion and illustrates his ideas with the most beautiful poetry and anecdotes involving both male and female Muslim saints. He also brings together the differing perspectives on love presented before him by other masters and authentic poets.
