Rosa Florescens

This book appeared in 1617, or three years after the first Rosicrucian manifesto, the Fama Fraternitatis. The latter text proposed “universal and general reform” in order to restore the harmony disrupted by the numerous crises afflicting Europe. It also revealed the existence of the “praiseworthy Fraternity of the Rose Cross”. There were no shortage of critics and the Order was thus maligned. Several figures then published treatises in which they reasserted the truth regarding the Rose-Cross: this work, written by Daniel Mögling under the pseudonym of Florentinus de Valentia, makes up part of them. It responds to the ignorance and blindness of those who attack the Fraternity of the Rose-Cross by detailing the philosophy it is based on: that being to enable all people to know themselves and discover the Universe of God in their own hearts. Translated into French for the first time, this text constitutes a historic document on the Order of the Rose-Cross. It will interest anyone who wishes to lift the veil on its mysteries.
