From the beginning of the 15th century, Venetian master glassworkers revived the practice using bead mosaics, the techniques for which were developed in Mesopotamia in 1500 B.C. They therefore established themselves as the inheritors of antique sophistication. Millefiori glass is a particular type of glass which is decorated while a solid block. It is worked while hot, either by blowing or by moulding.
