By introducing us the thousand most iconic holy places of the world’s great spiritualities, this work offers a true history of the human soul, from Cro-Magnon man to the modern day. It covers the most significant sites, from the lesser-known, such as those of Abomey (in Benin), Pachacamac (in Peru), Yamunotri (in India) to the most famous, such as those of Lourdes, Kyoto and Corinth, via places of remembrance such as Mount Herzl (Israel) and those of pilgrimage (Santiago de Compostela). This work also gives voice to the pilgrims and travellers. Matthieu Grimpret joined forces with around forty collaborators to produce this thrilling work.
