Le mystère du satellite Planck

The publication of unseen, mesmerising and extraordinarily precise images taken by the Planck spacecraft of the early universe turned our vision of the world and our place in it completely upside down. In fact the pictures revealed the very first light emitted by the Universe, in other words a distant reflection of the Big Bang. For 1000 days, the Planck spacecraft photographed cosmic background radiation which is now 45 billion light years away. Its discoveries enable us to start addressing the three great mysteries which have bedevilled humanity since the dawn of time: How was the Universe created? Is it governed by chance or a profound order? Was there “anything” before the Big Bang? Pursuing their mission of scientific popularisation, the Bogdanov brothers dedicate this work to the revelations of the Planck spacecraft, whose undertakings and challenges they explain, pausing for particular reflection on questions regarding the form of the Universe, the meaning of creation and before the Big Bang. Although numerous questions remain unanswered, science is progressing, within the confines of physics and metaphysics. This work enables us to better understand and follow the thrilling discoveries currently underway.
