In the 6th Century BC, a prince from the north of India left his parents and forewent his fortune in an attempt to find an answer to the universal enigma of suffering and death. Siddhartha Gautama was to become the “Enlightened one”: the Buddha, the Blessed who brings the True Law to millions of human beings. His teachings show that, by abstaining from all sin and through the practice of meditation, adepts will reach true knowledge leading them to nirvana, the supreme state of serenity. He would be the pioneer of a religion which, for two thousand five hundred years, has adapted itself to different regions, cultures and climates.
