L'enfant

In Maria Montessori’s view, education consists above all of taking care of a child’s specific needs, whether it be physical, emotional, intellectual of psychological, by respecting their personality.  Throughout this book, she evokes the different situations that all parents are confronted with at different times in a child’s life: the first contact with a new-born baby, learning to walk, starting school, etc.  How can we help a child with his or her need to explore his surroundings?  How can we comprehend situations involving conflicts, anger and lying and deal with them with love and respect? 

Maria Montessori sets out the main ideas of her teaching method, which aims to assist parents and teachers in accompanying their children as they grow up so that they may develop their potential and thereby contribute to a more harmonious society.
