Hermétisme et Renaissance

 Because it simultaneously involves alchemy, astrology, Theurgy and cosmology, Hermetism itself represents all mysteries. The Renaissance was to rediscover different hermetic writings, particularly thanks to Marsile Ficin, who brought to light the notion of the “Primordial Tradition” carried out by Hermes then Orpheus, Pythagoras and Plato, to name but a few. This book presents the Corpus hermeticum and examines the origins of the hermetic doctrine, the gnostic source of which is found in Egypt. It shows how this movement brought about an overhaul of mentalities across Europe. Because he is described as a microcosm reflecting the macrocosm, man is therefore in a position to master the forces at work throughout the universe.
