Ecce Homo

Louis-Claude de Saint-Martin (1743-1803), known under the pseudonym of the Unknown Philosopher, wrote Ecce Homo to show that man, since the Fall, has lost his original purity and become seduced by false doctrines which are derived more from the imaginary than from truth. To escape this illusion and regenerate spiritually, he has no other option than to open his heart to the divine Light glowing in his most profound depths. Then can it be proclaimed: There is the man, there is the sign, witness to the eternal principle of beings, there is the living manifestation of the universal axiom. More than two centuries after it was first published, this book remains a source of reflection and meditation for a humanity gripped by rampant materialism. It invites us to consider the human condition, with its joys, pain and expectations.
