Du Dieu des chrétiens

Who is the Christian God? What are his characteristics? What is particular to him? The philosopher Rémi Brague answers these questions over seven chapters. He attempts to offer a philosophical definition of the Christian God, starting with an analysis of different approaches to God in what is referred to as the three religions of the Book. He refutes the view held by many contemporary authors on the proximity between these three religions as, he tells us, they do not share the same relationship with the Scriptures and therefore do not have the same relationship with God. In the following chapters he examines the uniqueness of God, his unity in the Trinity, the Word of God, the position given to man, freedom and forgiveness.
