Description

This symbol was created by the A.M.O.R.C. in 1998, from a 1893 drawing by François Mérintier, on the occasion of the Rose-Cross Fairs being held in Paris. It is placed inside a mandorle, a word taken from the Italian mandorla meaning almond, a fruit symbolic of man’s eternal essence. The mandorle, a geometric shape created by drawing 2 circles, traditionally represents the union of the microcosm with the macrocosm, heaven and earth, the point where two worlds converge, meet and unite. It is therefore both symbolic of a journey to another world and of the Unity towards which every human being travels by way of earthly experiences until the discovery, in the deepest reaches of the self, of the divine making up part of us. At the center of the mandorle, the winged Rose-Cross flowing from the cup represents the elevation of consciousness under the influence of the soul. As for the Colombe, it represents the Cosmic Consciousness which descends towards the rose of the soul: the being then experiences Illumination of the Rose-Cross. Made in Italy
