UZBEKISTAN

The cantors of this recording stem, as adepts of Ahmad Yasavi (12th century), from Sufi culture at its most tolerant: spiritual chant accompanied by instruments of Uzbek classical music and zikr(collective litanies) performed a capella  –a sacred art nourished by poetry and fervour.
