Description
None of the books of Sigmund Freud pushed psychoanalytical speculation quite as far in order to provide the secrets of otherness and paternity. None confronted the necessary and complex meeting point of the psychic and the cultural with quite as much rigour. In this last work, the theoretical hypotheses of the murder of the father and of banquet of Totem and taboo are transformed: the man Moses becomes a father figure who is free of the bonds of gender and blood due to his Egyptian origin. The interpretation of which Freud provides here enables an understanding of the reforms he introduces into meta-psychology, at the first level of which is instinctual renunciation and progress within spirituality. If the incestuous and murderous cannibal which, according to Freud, each of us harbours within ourselves gains the opportunity to escape and fulfil his tragic destiny, this occurs due to his ability to understand the words of Freud free of illusion, as well as their consequences on a definition of the human.
