Description
Animals have intelligence and sensitivity, often resembling us in terms of the feelings they express. Like us, they feel stress and suffering and they recognize friendship. Franz-Olivier Giesbert passes on wisdom which he has learnt from them. All animals of every kind have the right to be respected as our brothers and sisters. However, the fate of many is hardly enviable: crowded into battery farms, the young separated from their mothers, they are little more than machines for making milk or meat. Giesbert calls for an end to the scandal of ritual slaughters, both Halal and Kosher, which put the animals through unnecessary suffering. According to him, the love given to animals is not taken away from humanity; solidarity must be total or it is not solidarity.
